For fans of the Hocus Pocus movies and all things Halloween, the holiday just got that much more exciting. For a limited time, two lucky fans will have the chance to stay in a perfect replica of the Sanderson sisters’ home with the Hocus Pocus Airbnb opening this fall.
Easily one of the best sleepovers for Halloween decoration-obsessed fans, the house is made to mirror the set used in the film with all its magical details and time-worn appeal.
Here we take an in-depth look at the home where lucky guests will be able to sleep for just $31 a night.
The Hocus Pocus Airbnb
The house can be found in the remote woods of Salem, Massachusetts, steeping the property in a wealth of magical history. The cottage itself, although looking dilapidated on the outside, has been meticulously crafted to look as if it has been frozen in time for over 300 years.
However, you won’t find any cozy cottage garden ideas here. The surroundings, while a beautiful place for family walks and picnics during the day, become the perfect spooky scary backdrop at night, whether you want to explore the magical activities the house has to offer, or rather curl up with the new movie.
There’s no standard outdoor Halloween decor in this house – though the pictures alone will no doubt provide endless inspiration for your own spooky decor.
Complete with a spell book and potions cabinet, the home’s decorating ideas are entirely inspired by the film, throwing guests into survival from the movies from the moment they walk through the doors.
Guests are even invited to try their hand at casting spells with the ancient spellbook used by the sisters throughout the films.
The main space of the cottage houses cozy living room ideas, perfect for hanging out with the new Hocus Pocus 2 movie, with home bar ideas straight from a historic home that provide the perfect place to make movie snacks.
The living room showcases just a few of the fantastic antique pieces used throughout the house with ornate carved chairs and an upholstered sofa.
With antique trends remaining huge this year, the Hocus Pocus Airbnb is a wonderfully whimsical place to find furniture inspiration, especially if you’re chasing the Dark Academia trend.
Other storybook features include the large boiler centerpiece that fans will know is a central prop used in the films and purposefully squeaky floorboards to create an authentic experience.
Who knows what else you might discover in the deepest corners and closets of the witches’ house?
Apart from the overtly witchy additions, the house is cozily decorated throughout, meaning any guest will be more than comfortable during their stay.
Candles light the Hocus Pocus Airbnb throughout to make a home look cosy, while antique-style books and decor pieces offer an old-world masterclass in decorating with vintage for an old-world appeal. Vintage trays, antique books and chests, and ornate mirrors make the space feel like something out of a moment in history.
Vintage bedroom ideas are designed to allude to the cottage’s supposed 300-year history and include plump bedding, iron bed frames, antique dressing tables and ornaments, and expansive gallery wall ideas that immerse guests in the historically haunted experience from morning to night. .
For those who may be wondering, broomstick parking is included.
Guests will also be able and encouraged to explore the area’s rich magical history, with tours available to some of Salem’s most haunted properties to help set the Halloween mood.
The cottage itself is embedded in Salem’s history, with information available around the property giving the house its own fictional place in real-life events.
“We all know that the Sanderson sisters’ story may not have ended when we turned to dust, and neither did our shenanigans,” says Kathy Najimy, who plays Mary Sanderson in the beloved films. “What better way to celebrate the season than to host guests at the trio’s historic haunt for an evening they will remember for years to come?”
Booking on Airbnb (opens in new tab) opens on October 12th at 1pm ET for an appropriately spooky $31 for a one-night stay at the house on October 20th. Although not a competition, this is an exclusive opportunity for two guests.
To support the next generation of the historic city, Airbnb has committed to making a one-time donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem, which aims to ensure that success is within reach of every young person who through their doors step.
